REIKI THERAPY
(Tantric Tibetan Reiki)
A Path of Compassion and Self-Knowledge
Level I – The Initiation
In order to fulfill the Paramita of Generosity and develop Buddhist Compassion for the benefit of all beings, I ask for the blessing and permission of the Mundane and Supramundane Masters to return to REIKI the sacred character inherent in all teachings born in the ocean Mahamudra of Vajrayana (Great Seal of the Diamond Vehicle) traditionally known as Tantra. I dedicate the merits generated by my white virtuous actions to the long life of My Gurus and ask that they take care of me and all beings until the sangsara ends. Soha!

About 2,500 years ago in the time of Buddha Shakyamuni, Devadata (Buddha's cousin) with his mind clouded by envy, realized that he was in great illness in the levels of body, speech and mind. Driven by karmic conditions and wishing to take the formulations prepared only for Buddhas, he made his physical and emotional imbalance intractable before the methods of gods and men. The Buddha, aware of the interdependent origination of causes and conditions (karma) and moved by deep compassion, touched Devadata's head and proclaimed:
“If on the relative and absolute level of existence I am truly a Buddha, you are free from all obscurations of body, speech and mind!”
At this time the Therapeutic Tradition of Harmonization by the Laying on of Hands emerged, which, whispered in the ear of master to disciple, has been transmitted to the present day, mixing with new cultures over time, absorbing new nuances, becoming an object of belief and disbelief, even falling into disuse for a long time and today, like the Phoenix, rising from the ashes.
The first holder of the teachings of Lord Buddha's Tantric Therapy in this era was Jivaka, the personal therapist of Buddha Shakyamuni, known as the Thrice-Crowned Prince. His later incarnations as Yutog Yonten Gonpo (the Elder and the Younger), who lived respectively in the ninth, tenth and twelfth centuries B.C., re-edited and commented on the Sutras and Tantras of the Conqueror, combining them with the native Tibetan Therapeutic System, which is still practiced in Tibet today. The set of these practices aimed at the energetic and psychophysiological balance of beings can be called Traditional Tibetan Therapy (TTT).
Between the 2nd and 1st centuries B.C., the Lotus Sutra and the Clear Light Tantra were written, Buddhist scriptures considered to be the original source of REIKI and other teachings related to the harmonization of the gross, subtle and very subtle bodies. In the 3rd century B.C., the Lotus Sutra and the Clear Light Tantra were written, these Buddhist scriptures are considered to be the original source of REIKI and other teachings related to the harmonization of the gross, subtle and very subtle bodies. In the 19th century, around 1908/1909, Sensei (teacher/master) Mikao Usui found texts in a Hindu monastery that dealt with harmonization practices through the Laying on of Hands; however, not having objective explanations on how to apply the symbolism and teachings contained in these texts, he set out on a pilgrimage in search of the understanding necessary to activate the flow of Universal Vital Energy through the hands...
After 21 days of fasting and meditation on Mount Kuryama (Japan), he gained insight into the Method, generating the Wisdom necessary to awaken the therapeutic potential inherent in every being, human, animal, plant or mineral. According to the disciples of the Usui Tradition, on the 21st day he saw lights on the horizon that were moving towards him and forming in space the symbols he had found in the Sanskrit texts; these symbols would have entered his mind through the region known in the East as the 3rd eye (middle of the forehead), which rendered him unconscious for a few minutes. Upon regaining consciousness, he felt “different” and realized that even though he had fasted for several days, drinking only water, he did not feel hungry or exhausted, but rather that he had all his energy and that his physical disposition was qualitatively superior. This was the first confirmation of the effectiveness of the method and, according to oral tradition, it was followed by four more events:
In the euphoria of reporting his discovery to the Abbot of the Buddhist monastery who had guided him throughout his search, Usui ran down Mount Kuryama and tripped over a stone, injuring his big toe. He quickly put his hands to the spot, as is common when we feel severe pain. However, he noticed that his hands were warm and vibrating and that the bleeding stopped in a few minutes.
Upon arriving at the inn at the foot of Mount Kuryama, he ordered a hearty meal, which is not very common for someone who has just come off a fast, and he quickly ate it without feeling ill.
He noticed that the innkeeper's daughter was suffering from a severe toothache and by taking her face in his hands, he made the pain disappear.
Finally, when he arrived at his friend the Abbot's monastery, he learned from an attendant that the latter was bedridden due to an attack of arthritis. Usui laid his hands on the painful spots and obtained immediate relief from the symptoms that afflicted his friend.
For the next seven years, Mikao Usui worked treating people in a beggars' ghetto in Kyoto, Japan. However, he found that many who had already recovered from their physical and emotional disorders preferred to continue begging rather than work with dignity to support themselves, thus failing to integrate into society because they were incapable of assuming new responsibilities in their lives. Usui concluded that there was no point in helping those who did not want to be helped and that for Reiki to be treated with due respect, people must be willing to give something in return, which does not necessarily have to be monetary value, but could, for example, be the exchange of services and the involvement of the individual in the therapeutic process of their family, social and environmental environment. After this time, Usui became a Buddhist monk and was initiated into the Shingon Tradition, which is a branch of Vajrayana Buddhism (Tantra). Shingon Buddhism was founded in Japan in the early 19th century by the Japanese monk Kukai (Kobo Daishi, 774 - 835) who was a student of the Japanese Huikuo (Keika, 746 - 805). Huikuo was a disciple of the Indian monk Amoghavajra, who was a student of Vajrabodhi, a renowned instructor in the tantric tradition.
In 1922 Usui founded a school in Tokyo to teach Reiki Therapy, giving rise to what is now known as the Mikao Usui Traditional School, or rather, Usui Reiki Ryoho Hikkei (Usui's Spiritual Energy Therapy, to harmonize internally and externally).
He had several students, 16 of whom reached the level of Reiki Master, which means having the ability to give initiations and instructions on how to practice and teach the Reiki technique, thus preventing the knowledge from being lost after his death.
Mikao Usui was born on August 15, 1865, in the Gifu district of Japan, and died on March 9, 1926 in Fukuyama. He condensed into two levels, Mastery and four ideograms (symbols) what could be understood by beings with common minds and conceptions, formulated “The Five Reiki Principles” and transmitted the basic technique of applying energy to the Seven Major Chakras (energy vortices in the body), leaving the initiates with the internal part of the teachings related to the Tantra of the Clear Light and Reiki.
AWAKENING INNER HARMONY
Rei means universal, spirit, essence.
Ki means vital energy.
Reiki is a Japanese word composed of two ideograms that mean Universal Vital Energy and can be represented in these two ways. The form on the left is the most widespread. There is a third form; Any of these forms is correct, however the pronunciation adopted in the West is not. In the Japanese language, words beginning with the phoneme “R” are pronounced as in “arena” and not as in “carro”. Therefore, the correct pronunciation is ‘Rêiki’ and not “rreiki”.
When we come into contact with this Energy, which is essentially loving, we become a channel of its therapeutic power. To do this, we do not need to induce altered states of consciousness or have special gifts. It is only necessary that we participate in brief ceremonies, called initiations, under the guidance of a Reiki Master, during which certain channels of our body will be aligned and activated by the Master’s touch and will begin to convey this energy whose flow is felt in the hands throughout life.
Reiki is an act of laying hands on the human, animal or plant body with the aim of reestablishing the balance of gross and subtle energy as well as enhancing the regeneration capacity of these organisms. In addition to detoxifying the physical body and enabling the recovery of organic vitality, Reiki allows the dissolution of emotional blockages and the purification of negative karma generated in this and other times.
Acting on the Five Skandhas (layers or subtle bodies), it purifies the aggregates of the compositional factors of our being, making us aware of our five main delusions, called ignorance, desire-based attachment, anger, greed and envy. In this way, we will transform our polluted subtle body and develop an energy body with the radiance of pure crystal, our contaminated speech will have the pure vibration of the mantra and our disturbed mind will have the stability and clarity of the diamond.
What differentiates Reiki from other touch therapy techniques is Initiation. In Tibetan, the term “Wang” means initiation, or better yet “transfer of power”. It is the spiritual blessing granted by a qualified master, allowing the disciple to recognize and connect with his or her Buddha or divine nature. The Sanskrit equivalent is abhisheka. According to Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche (Beyond Spiritual Materialism): - “Abhisheka means to sprinkle, to pour, to anoint. And to pour, there must be a vessel where the poured liquid can fall. If we truly commit ourselves, opening ourselves to our spiritual friend in an appropriate and complete way, becoming a vessel that can receive the communication, he will also open himself, and then the initiation takes place. This is the meaning of abhisheka, or ‘the meeting of the two minds’, that of the master and that of the disciple”.
We are all born with Reiki, but we forget how divine we are; at the moment of an initiation we are brought face to face with our latent potential and we are attuned to this creative essence that will illuminate our senses and awaken our desire for the journey of personal growth. In the attunement process, some of the body’s force channels, responsible for capturing and distributing our energy, are stimulated to function in their original form, providing the ability to harmonize not only ourselves but everyone we touch.
With attunement, the hands radiate vibrations that flow from the head and travel throughout the body, directing themselves to areas that are in disharmony. Once “tuned in”, the disciple becomes a receiver, catalyst and transmitter of this inexhaustible source of therapeutic energy and even if he/she has not used Reiki for many years, when he/she needs to do so, he/she will only need to think of Reiki (Energy, Universal Vital Essence) and allow it to flow where it is needed. Alignment harmonizes and purifies the subtle channels of our energetic body, improving health in a holistic way and giving the initiate the ability to care for other people without depleting his/her own vital energy.
By applying Reiki you will be filling yourself with light and connecting with the Infinite Buddha or Enlightened Essence that is within me, in you and in all things, visible and invisible and then Namaste! The Buddha within me greets the Buddha within You!
Reiki Therapy cannot be learned through books or videotapes; it is possible to learn almost everything about its history, basic positions, functioning of the Chakras as well as their correspondence with glands and organs in books; However, Reiki energy will only be used in therapy sessions when you have been properly attuned by a qualified Master in one or more systems, such as the Usui System (Japanese), Ngal So Chag Wang Reiki (Lama Gangchen Rinpoche - Buddhist Master), Osho Reiki System (of Hindu origin), Kahuna System (originating from the Polynesian Islands - Kahuna Indians), and several other designations that have emerged over time. Even if you have had an initiation from a system other than Usui, I consider it important that at the appropriate time you seek to refresh your Reiki levels with a master of the Traditional Usui System, so that you can compare and draw your own conclusions about Reiki Therapy, especially if you intend to become an instructor in this technique. Be prepared for changes that may manifest in various areas of your life and for the profound processes of purification that manifest in the physical and emotional body. It is common for people who have been initiated or clients undergoing Reiki treatment to experience an increase in symptoms if they are physically or emotionally ill, as well as in the body's natural secretions and excretions: urinary flow – diarrhea – phlegm – sweat – burning eyes – earwax – fever, etc. These are signs that the body is reacting and recovering its natural harmony. A similar situation may occur in the mental-emotional field, where unresolved experiences and traumas from the present or past life may manifest themselves in the light of consciousness and be understood.
It is recommended to drink more liquids and eat a balanced diet during and after the treatment, in order to allow for rapid detoxification and provide the body with the nutrients necessary for the process of balancing and transforming energies. In addition, it is advisable to dedicate one hour a day to relaxation, meditation and connection with the mental-spiritual state generated during the Reiki sessions.
By participating in a ‘Free Reiki Therapy Training Course’ you will learn the ethical principles and will have the resources to deal with situations arising from the therapeutic process.
Reiki treats the individual as a whole, but clients with acute symptoms should seek medical advice first, and then harmonize with the “Reiki” energy, which will certainly be a great ally in the individual’s recovery process.
THE FIVE REIKI PRINCIPLES
“Just for today, don’t worry, be Ngal So, relaxed”.
“Just for today, don’t be upset, be thankful for having this precious human life”.
“Be thankful for the blessings received, honoring and respecting your parents, teachers and ancestors, but mainly honoring and maintaining a pure bond with your Master”.
“Provide your sustenance with honesty, seeking correct means of living, be generous, giving material resources, true teachings, protection and love to other beings”.
“Respect all life, having compassion for all sentient beings and migrants.
help them to free themselves from the fears of samsara by finding the peace of nirvana here and now.”
Other authors and Reiki Masters have commented on these principles and despite my adaptation, I prefer to leave them to the taste of meditation and add to these principles The Seven Unlimited Meditations that I learned in Vajrayana Buddhism, kindly transmitted and complemented by my Guru, T.Y.S. THE SUCCESSION OF THE REIKI LINEAGE
After Usui's disappointment with the ghetto beggars, he began to look for someone who was truly interested in receiving the benefits that Reiki had to offer. It is even said that Usui walked across Japan with a torch in his hand shouting:
Who is looking for the light! - Who is looking for the light!???
After some time, he met Chujiro Hayashi (1878-1941), a retired officer of the Armed Forces who at the age of forty-seven (1925) received his degree as a Reiki Master and became the successor of Mikao Usui. He was a great collaborator of Usui and, because of his anatomical knowledge, developed the sequence of application of Reiki following the anatomical correspondence to the organs. Hayashi had several male students and initiated the first women, among them his wife Chie Hayashi and Hawayo Takata. In addition to Hayashi, there are other reports of Usui's direct disciples, such as Taketomi, Gyuda and Eguchi. The latter was the most prominent, having studied with Usui in 1923, founded a Reiki society and passed on his lineage to a disciple named Miyazuki.
In 1935, the Hawaiian Hawayo Takata was admitted to the Maeda Hospital in Akasaka (Japan) suffering from an abdominal tumor, lung deficiency and depression. As there were risks to her surgery, she was informed at the hospital about the existence of an alternative treatment center that could help her case. In 1936, Takata went to the Shina No Machi center, the Chujiro clinic, where she underwent Reiki treatment and an elaborate diet for a period of four months. She recovered from all the ailments she suffered from and wanted to be introduced to this technique, which she only managed to do in 1938, as at that time the method was not taught to foreigners. On May 10, 1941, Hayashi named Takata as his successor and shortly after, in the presence of his wife and all the Reiki masters of Japan, he died of cardiac arrest. Takata returned to Hawaii and spread the technique among North Americans, initiating hundreds of people and 22 masters between the 1970s and 1980s. Among his best-known disciples, we can mention his granddaughter Phyllis Lei Furomoto, who founded the Reiki Alliance school, and Barbara Rey, who founded The Radiance-Technique school. The other masters preferred not to join these associations because they did not think it was legitimate to charge $10,000 for a master's degree, so they became Independent Reiki Masters.
Throughout history, Reiki has undergone changes and acquired new nuances, blending with regional cultures. Traditional Usui Reiki, Usui Reiki Ryoho, is probably the closest to what Takata received in Japan, but considering the individual training he gave to each master, I recommend that you seek out all the sources and talk to as many masters as you can find. If you can go to Japan, pay a visit to the Kurama Temple:
Address: Kurama Honmachi, Sakyo-Ku, Kyoto, Japan. Tel: 0081-75-7412003. Taking the subway or bus from Kyoto's central train station, go to the station From Demachiyanagi, from here, take a train to Kurama and get off at the last station, the journey is made by the Eizan-Kurama railway line. The Temple is a five-minute walk from this station.

THE DIVISIONS OR LEVELS OF REIKI
Reiki is taught in three levels, each one deepening the connection with universal energy:
Level 1 (Shoden): Awakening to the Reiki energy, learning the healing positions for oneself and others.
Level 2 (Okuden): Expanding the connection with the energy, learning the Reiki symbols and distance healing.
Level 3 (Shinpiden): Deepening mastery, learning the master symbol and the ability to teach Reiki.
LEVEL I - “The Awakening” - “The Initiation”.
This level allows the practitioner to use the technique on themselves, other people, animals and plants. The energy channels are restored, allowing it to flow through the hands by simply placing them on those they wish to harmonize. The topics covered in Level I are simple, and no prior knowledge of any other technique is necessary to become a Reiki therapist. The prerequisite for receiving initiation into the technique is to have the right motivation, developing a compassionate mind that wishes to benefit all beings, in order to minimize their suffering.
After the level I attunement, the hands are directed to 14 basic positions related to organic anatomy, remaining in each position for 3 or 4 minutes. A complete treatment for a level I practitioner takes about 60 minutes. This is a complete module, that is, there is no obligation to do level II in order to apply the technique. There is also no obligation to do all the levels with the same master, nor is there a need for a new attunement in level I by another master if the student is interested in doing level II with a master other than the first. After the level I attunement, the practitioner goes through 21 days of cleansing, on a physical level, dissolving energy blockages and toxins. In level I, it is necessary to touch the person to apply Reiki, since the energy passes through the physical body. The duration of the Reiki Level I module is around 12 hours, a full day or divided into two days. After 2 or 3 months of practice, development and assimilation of the techniques presented, Level II will be available to anyone who wishes.
RESEARCH ON THE SUBTLE ENERGY FIELD
Throughout the history of the world, researchers and followers of all religious practices have narrated subtle experiences that report the existence of an energy field that permeates all animate or inanimate matter. They claim that this energy can be seen by more sensitive or trained beings or even by ordinary people. Have you ever felt that “shiver from head to toe?” This is simply an accelerated movement or discharge of energy throughout the body, which occurs simultaneously through our neurotransmitter system as well as in the energy field closest to the skin.
In Ancient India, around 5 or 8,000 years ago, there was already talk of a universal energy called Prana, which they believed to be the invisible thread that gives rise to and sustains all existence. Yogis practice the manipulation of this energy through meditation and breathing techniques, which grants them expanded consciousness and a long life.
In China, 3,000 BC, the same energy was known as Ch’i and they postulated that this energy was composed of two complementary forces, yin and yang, as in electricity, is positive and negative. According to Traditional Chinese Therapy, health and vitality are obtained from the balance between yin and yang, but when these poles are lacking or in excess, disharmony occurs, which can compromise the individual's physical and mental health. Acupuncture, Shiatsu, Moxibustion and Do-in are based on the application of various procedures with the aim of dissolving blockages and harmonizing the flow of Ch'i through the human or animal body. Around 500 B.C., the followers of Pythagoras claimed that “his light” produced beneficial effects on the human organism. In the Middle Ages, the physician Paracelsus (1490-1541) called this energy “Illiaster” and said that it is composed of vital force and vital matter simultaneously. Mathematician John Baptist Van Helmont (1577-1644), a follower of Paracelsus' doctrine, mentions the vision he had of a universal fluid that permeated all animate or inanimate things; in line with this, Mesmer, his contemporary, goes further by saying that these 'things' could be charged with this 'fluid' and that material bodies could exert influence on each other, even at a distance.
The term "odic" force also emerged in the 19th century, a name given by industrial chemist Count Wilhelm von Reichenbach (1788-1869) after 30 years of experiments with the 'field he discovered'. He found that the "od" could be conducted through a wire or any other type of material, observing that the phenomenon had more to do with the density of the object's mass than with its electrical conductivity. It was found that part of this field could be focused as light or bipolar energy and that another part of the ‘od’ could be seen around the body like the luminescence around a candle flame. This would be the closest description of what we now call the aura.
The founder of Homeopathy, Dr. Christian Samuel Hahnemann (1795-1871), defended the thesis of “Similia similibus curantur” (like cures like). This empirically proven theory is compatible with the principles of the polarity of ‘odic’ energy exposed by Reichenbach in which, unlike electromagnetism, like poles attract and unlike poles repel.
Between 1863-1924, Dr. Albert Abraham completed his medical degree at Heidelberg University and began teaching pathology at Stanford. After ten years of research, he recognized that all matter ‘radiates’ and that these radiations depend on the molecular components of the material in question, and can be detected and measured in wavelength.
In 1911, another researcher who stood out in the advancement of research in the field of energy, using colored filters treated with cobalt and radioisotopes, Dr. William Kilner observed the existence of three layers of a bright mist around the body with undefined contours. According to him, this mist, which he called “aura”, varies from person to person and is directly related to sex, age, and physical or psycho-emotional health.
At the beginning of the 20th century, psychiatrist Wilhelm Reich gave the universal energy the name orgone, and began to study the relationship between orgone flow disorders and psychological dysfunctions. The result of his research was the creation of a therapeutic method that unified Freudian analysis and physical manipulation with the aim of reestablishing the orgone flow through the human body, thus clarifying negative mental and emotional states.
The theory that defends the therapeutic system through the imposition of hands is the action of biophoton energy on the molecular structure of water. About 90% of the human body is composed of liquid matter, and water is an unstable compound of hydrogen and oxygen that can be exchanged for any form of energy. Photonic energy, mobilized by the IMPOSITION OF HANDS, crystals and other emission techniques, can transform the structure of WATER, modifying the disordered growth of cells and accelerating the regeneration process of the organism.
Scientists from Russia, the United States and several other countries are working on measuring and documenting such energies, confirming their influence on the alteration of the physical environment, both liquid and solid.
DEVELOPMENT OF THE AURA IN THE HUMAN BODY.
According to Tibetan science, the auric light of the body is the natural result of the transformation of the essence of food, through the seven constituents of the body, the essence of food (chilie) is transformed into blood, muscle texture, fat, bone, bone marrow and regenerative fluid. When we eat, the essence of our food is transformed in seven stages by our body, producing the seven physical constituents; the most subtle of these is the auric body.
1. The food we eat is digested and absorbed into the blood. The pure essence of this food circulates and turns into blood, the remainder returns to the stomach in the form of mucus.
2. The pure essence of our blood turns into flesh and the remainder goes to the liver and gallbladder bile as bilirubin.
3. The pure essence of our flesh turns into fat and the rest is expelled through the eyes, ears, nose, mouth and pores of the skin in the form of tears, wax, mucus and sweat.
4. The pure essence of fat turns into bone and the remainder turns into the oiliness of the skin and feces.
5. The pure essence of bone turns into bone marrow and the remainder forms nails and hair.
6. The pure essence of bone marrow turns into the white and red bodhichitas (semen, egg and menstrual blood) and the remaining product lubricates the internal organs, urine and feces.
7. The pure essence of semen and egg turns into the light of the body (aura) and what is left turns into hormones or, if combined, a new human being.
The aura is considered the pure essence of the semen and the ovum; the impure part of this essential masculine and feminine energy is the semen and menstrual blood that are familiar to us. The main seat of our body of light and subtle consciousness is within our heart chakra and is called the indestructible drop. This is the seat of our deepest level of consciousness. The light that radiates outwards, beyond the limits of the physical body, is called the aura.
We “Western therapists” have the idea that harmonization processes occur through the purification of the aura; however, the Tibetan tradition teaches that relative and absolute balance is only possible through the purification of the channels, winds and drops of energy of our subtle consciousness. This purification results in changes that can be observed in our aura as well as in our physical body.
Channels, Winds and Drops (Tigle).
In our subtle body there are three main energy channels, the central, the right and the left, from which 72 main channels branch off and are divided into 72 thousand channels. Through these channels flow the Wind-elements and Drops of vital essence that carry out vital functions such as blood circulation, touch, hearing, vision, etc. The central channel is pale blue in color and has four attributes: 1st. It is straight like a banana tree. 2nd. Inside it is oily red like fresh blood. 3rd. It is extremely clear and transparent like the flame of a candle. 4th. It is soft and flexible like a lotus petal. The central channel is located from the top of the head to the tip of the sexual organ (clitoris in women); it forms an arch like an umbrella handle that ends between the eyebrows. It is closer to the spine than to the central part of the body. Next to it are the right (red) and left (white) channels. The left channel curves to the right a few centimeters below the navel, separating slightly from the central channel to join again at the tip of the sexual organ. Its function is to keep the blood, urine and sperm flowing. The right channel curves to the left at the same height as the other and ends at the tip of the anus; its function is to release feces.
The right or solar channel contains the feminine energy that is responsible for our blood, circulatory system and aggression. The left lunar channel contains the masculine energy responsible for our lymphatic system and ignorance. The lateral channels intertwine at four points along the central channel, forming what we call chakras. At the navel, throat and crown, the knot is formed by just one coiling of each channel. At the heart, there are three coilings of each.
Our mind “rides” these winds like a knight on his horse, inseparable. The thoughts and emotions that we experience stimulate the energy of the winds on the chakras. The positive chakras energize the chakras, loosening the knots, while the negative chakras gradually crystallize, creating greater blockages and disturbances in our vital functions, enabling pathological manifestations of a physical and mental nature. This means that the root cause of all imbalances is emotional, resulting from the blockage of our internal channels, and that the necessary attitude is to realize that we are the only ones responsible for our own health.

CONDUCTING A THERAPEUTIC SESSION
Reiki can be applied to various everyday situations, promoting well-being and balance:
Self-treatment: Dedicate a few minutes of your day to connect with Reiki energy, revitalizing your body and mind.
Treatment of others: Share Reiki energy with your family, friends and pets, promoting healing and well-being.
Reiki in food and drinks: Energize your food and drinks with Reiki, enhancing their health benefits.
Reiki in the environment: Harmonize the energy of your home or workplace, creating an environment of peace and tranquility.
Additional techniques:
Gassho: Meditation with hands in prayer, to center energy.
Joshin Kokyu Ho: Breathing technique to purify energy.
Byosen Reikan Ho: Technique to detect areas of energy imbalance.
We must keep in mind that the objective of a Reiki session should not only be to temporarily minimize the suffering of beings, but rather to find a solution to eradicate the cause of suffering. We know that the only way to transform the root causes is through the process of enlightenment of the mind and growth of compassion for all beings, as proposed by the teachings of Buddha and Jesus, among others.
The laying on of hands to treat someone should be an attitude motivated by compassion and the desire to free all beings from the causes of their suffering, which is, in other words, a pure gesture of love. Below are some procedures for good Reiki practice.
The place where you will be treated should be airy, clean and comfortable, preferably without carpet. Avoid candles, incense, and pictures of saints, angels or spiritual masters. After all, many people are sensitive to smells and, since Reiki is not linked to any religion, we should not influence the client's belief system.
The light should be low, preferably a lampshade or use semi-transparent curtains.
Soft music will promote relaxation. There are Reiki CDs in which the tracks are spaced every three minutes, which helps you control the time of the session without having to worry about the clock.
Use a comfortable stretcher, couch or chair for the client and the therapist, as you will have to walk around the client when changing positions, and you may remain standing or sitting during the application.
It is recommended to have a sheet available in case the client feels cold.
Remove all rings, jewelry and metal from the body.
Wash your hands in running water before and after the treatment (up to the elbows).
Brush your teeth and rinse your mouth thoroughly.
Instruct the client to remove shoes, metal, belts, excess clothing or anything that may bother them.
Ask the client to lie on their back with their arms relaxed close to their body or according to their comfort. This position can also be followed with the client lying face down.
Purify the environment by visualizing the Vital Energy permeating all things and illuminating every particle of matter. Imagine that everything becomes transparent like a crystal.
Make sure that there is no draft over the client.
Explain to the client the procedures that will be performed (whether or not he or she will be touched).
Reiki passes through clothing, bandages, plasters, metals, etc., but the transmitter and receiver must be well-warmed, without a belt and wearing comfortable clothing, preferably in a light color.
The client should be instructed not to cross their legs and arms.
In case of burns, apply Reiki from a distance of approximately three centimeters.
Keep your fingers together and your hand in a “cup” shape.
Remain in each position for 1 to 3 minutes or for the time it takes to breathe.
Try to do all the basic positions, but if you skip or forget one, don’t worry about the order. Go back and complete what is necessary, always following your intuition and inner guidance.
The treatment should have at least three sessions that last at least an hour. After doing all the basic positions, dedicate about 10 to 20 minutes to the most problematic areas.
Elderly people or those with chronic illnesses should not undergo sessions longer than 30 minutes. Over time, the duration of the treatment can be gradually increased according to need.
Small children and newborns require a maximum of 30 minutes.
The transmitter may feel sensations of heat, cold or tingling in the palms of their hands. This is normal and serves as an indication of the affected areas. They may also feel their body shaking, as if there were an electric shock, intense heat or slight itching in parts of the body or all over. Alternating temperature variations in various parts along with drowsiness and yawning. Sudden joy and states of euphoria as well as the opposite. Pressures, ‘stings’, visions of multicolored lights and images that jump into the mind. All of this is perfectly normal and if you do not feel anything, do not worry, the energy is adapting to the needs of the individual and acting at a subtle frequency that Sometimes we are unable to perceive it.
During the treatment period, it is recommended that the therapist and the recipient drink plenty of fluids, eat organic foods when possible and take vitamin supplements if recommended by their doctor.
‘Open’ the connection with the universal energy field using symbols, mantras and concentration on the palms of your hands, remembering that the objective of channeling this energy is to free all beings from the root causes of suffering, whether physical, emotional, mental or spiritual; for this, there is nothing better than reflecting on the subtext of the wisdom expressed by Buddha Shakyamuni (Prince Sidhartha Gautama), when he gave the teaching of the Four Noble Truths. We should meditate on these words daily and apply what “The Nobility of Truths” teaches every day.
THE NOBILITY OF TRUTHS
By Bhikkhu Bodhi (Winter 1991-1992)
Buddha Shakyamuni gave 84,000 spiritual teachings to treat the subtle mind and purify the channels, winds and drops of energy in our body; to understand how these methods of the science of internal self-healing work we must refer to his first teaching entitled “The Four Noble Truths”.
The most common and best-known formulation of the Buddha’s teachings is the one he himself announced in the First Sermon in Benares, the formula of the Four Noble Truths. The Buddha declared that these truths convey in a few words all the basic information we need to begin the path of liberation. He says that just as the footprint of an elephant, because of its great size, contains the footprints of all other animals, so the Four Noble Truths, because of their comprehensiveness, contain within themselves all the beneficial and wholesome teachings. However, while many expositors of Buddhism have devoted attention to explaining the content of the four truths, only rarely is any consideration given to why they are called noble truths. Yet it is precisely this descriptive term “noble” that tells us why the Buddha chose to put his teaching in this particular format, and it is the same term that allows us to experience, even from a distance, the unique flavor that permeates the entire doctrine and discipline of the Enlightened One.
The word “noble” or ariya is used by the Buddha to designate a particular type of person, the type of person his teachings are intended to create. In the discourses the Buddha classifies human beings into two broad categories. On the one hand are the puthujjanas, the worldly ones, those who belong to the masses, whose eyes are still covered with the dust of defilement and delusion. On the other hand are the ariyans, the noble ones, the spiritual elite, who obtain this status not by birth, social status, or ecclesiastical power, but by their inner nobility of character.
These two general types are not separated from each other by an unbridgeable gulf, each confined to a hermetically sealed compartment. A series of gradations can be distinguished ascending from the darkest level of the blind worldling imprisoned in the dungeon of egoism and self-assertion, through the stage of the virtuous worldling in whom the seeds of wisdom are beginning to sprout, and beyond through the intermediate stages of the noble disciples to the perfected individual at the summit of the whole scale of human development. This is the Arahat, the liberated one, who has absorbed the purifying vision of truth so deeply that all his defilements have been eliminated, and with them, suffering.
Although the path from bondage to liberation, from the worldly to spiritual nobility, is a graduated path involving gradual practice and gradual progress, it is not a continuous, uniform process. Progress occurs in discreet steps, and at a certain point—the point that separates the status of a worldly person from that of a noble person—a gap is found that must be crossed, not simply by taking another step forward, but by making a leap from this side to the other shore. This decisive event in the inner development of the practitioner, this radical leap that propels the disciple from the domain and lineage of the worldly to the domain and lineage of the noble ones, occurs precisely through the penetration of the Four Noble Truths. This reveals to us the important reason why the four truths revealed by the Buddha are called noble truths. They are noble truths because when we penetrate them to their core, when we understand their real meaning and implications, we cast aside the status of a worldly person and acquire the status of a noble one; we are drawn from the anonymous mass into the community of the Blessed One's disciples, united by a single and unshakable vision. Before the penetration of the truths, however much we may be endowed with spiritual virtues, we are not yet on safe ground. We are not immune to regression, yet without guarantee of liberation, we are not invincible in our efforts on the path. The virtues of and a worldly one are tenuous virtues. They may develop or disappear, they may flourish or decline, and corresponding to their degree of strength we may rise or fall in our movement through the cycle of becoming. When our virtues are full we may rise and abide in bliss among the gods; when our virtues decline or our merit is exhausted we may sink again into the miserable depths.
But with the penetration of the truths we have leapt across the gulf that separates us from the group of the noble ones. The eye of the Dharma has been opened, the vision of the truth is revealed, and although the decisive victory has not yet been won, the path to the final goal lies at one's feet and supreme safety from bondage looms on the horizon. He who has realized the truths has changed his lineage, has crossed over from the domain of the worldly to the domain of the noble ones. Such a disciple is incapable of regressing to the ranks of the worldly, incapable of losing the vision of the truth that has shone before his inner eye. Progress toward the ultimate goal, the complete eradication of ignorance and craving, may be slow or rapid; it may come easily or as a result of intense struggle. But no matter how long it takes, or how easily one advances, one thing is certain: such a disciple who has seen the Four Noble Truths with immaculate clarity can never regress, will never lose his noble status, and is destined to attain the final fruit of arahatship in no more than seven lifetimes.
The reason why the penetration of the Four Noble Truths can confer this immutable nobility of spirit is implicit in the four tasks set before us. By taking these tasks as the challenge of our life—the challenge as followers of the Enlightened One—from whatever stage of development we begin, we can gradually advance toward the infallible realization of the noble ones.
The First Noble Truth, the truth of suffering, must be fully understood: the task set before us is complete understanding. A characteristic mark of the noble ones is that they do not go through life thoughtlessly, but strive to understand existence from within, as honestly and completely as possible. It is necessary for us, too, to reflect on the nature of our lives. We need to examine deeply the profound meaning of an existence bound on one side by birth and on the other by death, and subject to all the kinds of suffering detailed by the Buddha in his discourses.
The Second Noble Truth, concerning the origin of suffering, signifies the task of letting go. A noble one is a noble one because he has begun the process of transmuting the defilements that are at the root of suffering, and we too, if we aspire to reach the level of the noble ones, must be prepared to resist the seductive charm of the defilements. While the eradication of craving can only be achieved through supramundane realizations, even in the daily course of our worldly lives we can learn to moderate the grosser manifestations of the defilements, and through keen self-observation we can gradually loosen their hold on our hearts.
The Third Noble Truth, the cessation of suffering, signifies the task of realization. Although Nibbana, the extinction of suffering, can only be personally realized by the noble ones, our trust in the Dharma as our guide for life shows us what we should select as our final aspiration, as that which is ultimately most valuable. Once we have understood the fact that all conditioned things in the world, being impermanent and without substance, can never give us complete satisfaction, we can then raise our goal to the unconditioned element, Nibbana the Deathless, and make that aspiration the framework around which we organize our daily choices and concerns. Finally, the Fourth Noble Truth, the Noble Eightfold Path, provides us with the task of development. The noble ones have attained their status by developing the eightfold path, and while only the noble ones are certain that they will never stray from the path, the Buddha’s teachings provide us with the meticulous instructions we need to tread the path culminating in the plane of the noble ones. This is the path that gives birth to vision, that gives birth to knowledge, that leads to the highest understanding, enlightenment and Nirvana, the highest realization of the noble ones.
From this point on, I will return to the techniques themselves, but I leave the door open for those who wish to know the philosophy and psychology taught by Buddha Shakyamuni and I hope that this will be for the benefit of all sentient beings in samsara and nirvana. Soha! (So be it!).
If you wish to enhance your motivation during the act of applying Reiki Therapy, I suggest that you mentally recite the mantra of Buddha Shakyamuni. It It will bring greater mental clarity and connect you with a feeling of deep and absolute peace. The translation below is from the book Supermarket of Good Thoughts (Self-Healing III) by Lama Gangchen Rinpoche.
OM MUNI MUNI MAHA MUNI SHAKYAMUNI SOHA
OM represents the connection with the absolute level, bringing to us the life and pure crystal energy of the body, speech and mind of Buddha.
MUNI is renunciation, the desire to abandon the sufferings of samsara and find permanent peace, cleansing and purifying our five inner crystals.
MUNI is the great awakening heart, wishing to complete its self-healing to become a Supreme Healer of all living beings. In Sanskrit, this energy is called Bodhichitta.
MAHA MUNI is the mind touching reality. First through positive imagination and then directly. The reality is that all phenomena are manifestations of absolute space arising interdependently. Absolute space means the absence of independent existence in the entire universe.
SHAKYAMUNI is Tantric Bodhichitta, or the Bodhichitta Rocket: the great awakening heart, wishing to complete its personal evolution at maximum speed and power along the Vajrayana path, to be fully capable of healing all living beings as quickly as possible.
Vajrayana means meditating on reality (the emptiness of absolute space) and the bliss of our mind. Vajra in Sanskrit means “diamond”, the most precious and stable pure crystal. Vajra means uniting absolute space and bliss with the Clear Light Mind, the ultimate goal of Tantra.
SOHA means dedicating our energy to completing Self-Healing and Spatial Training as quickly as possible.
It is not necessary to be Buddhist or religious to recite and receive the benefits of this mantra. If you are, for example, having difficulty making a decision, you can recite it for a while and see what happens afterwards. Perhaps you will discover a certain inner clarity, certainty and wisdom instead of the usual fear and indecision.
APPLYING SELF-THERAPY
After receiving level I, you can apply the basic positions for Reiki Therapy daily. Start with the head and let the process flow throughout the body, changing positions when necessary. You don't need to wait for something to go wrong to cleanse and nourish the system of channels, winds and drops. You can use Reiki energy daily, which will certainly act preventively, maintaining the physical and mental health of the practitioner.
EMERGENCY THERAPY
The client should be seated or in whatever position is most convenient for the case.
1st position: lightly touch the person's shoulders.
2nd position: keep your hands concave for three minutes at a distance of 15 cm from the top of the head.
3rd position: gently touch the top of the head (crown chakra).
4th position: touch the forehead and the back of the neck simultaneously. (Frontal chakra/3rd eye and neck)
5th position: touch the seventh cervical vertebra and the Adam's apple. (Throat chakra)
6th position: touch the external {breast bone} and between the shoulder blades. (Heart chakra)
7th position: touch the stomach and the back 1st lumbar vertebra. (Solar plexus chakra)
8th position: touch the navel and the sacrum simultaneously. (Navel chakra, two fingers below is the Hara, a point used in moxibustion, acupuncture, qi gong, etc. It is of vital importance).
9th position: wrap the iliac crest in the palms of your hands simultaneously, with your fingers pointing downwards. When leaving the position, raise the energy to the top of your head.
10th position: touch the knees and touch the back of the client's feet with your plantar region. All these positions can be performed for 30 seconds or for the duration of a cycle of slow, deep inhalation and exhalation.
GROUP THERAPY
This is a way of sharing the higher states of group consciousness and deepening the harmony of Reiki practitioners. Before starting the session, it is necessary to decide who will lead and which parts of the client's body will be treated by each participant in the group. The number of participants can vary from two to eight, which reduces a full session to just a few minutes, but has a much greater therapeutic range, which will be felt mainly in the physical body. It is recommended to leave emotional issues to be treated individually, that is, one giver for one receiver.
REIKI PRACTITIONER CIRCLES
This method is ideal for meetings between Reikians, where more time is usually spent exchanging experiences and results than practicing with each other, and in the end the time flies by. This is when we can sit or stand in a circle, resting our right hand on the shoulder of the participant on our right and our left hand on the waist of the person on our left. Remain silent for as long as you can. How about five minutes? Is that enough time to breathe? So relax... Let go... Rest in this moment.
LEVEL II - “The Transformación”
To receive the knowledge of level II, it is necessary to respect a minimum interval of one month between the first and second levels, during which time the practitioner will be going through the process of psychophysical cleansing and experiencing in his/her body the changes resulting from the attunement process. However, I recommend three months for research and experiments before entering the ‘Field of Deep Emotional Transformations’ provided by the therapeutic techniques of level II. This module can also be completed in one day, but I prefer to extend it as much as necessary so that you understand why we call this level “The Transformation”.
Two yantras (symbols) and three mantras (sounds) will be taught, which are the names of these symbols, or rather, a keyword to express what they mean to the Reiki Therapist. By internalizing the meaning of each symbol and its use, the student is able to send Reiki at a distance to one person at a time. This possibility of sending Reiki energy through ‘Non-Linear Space-Time’ can be understood by assimilating concepts such as the Theory of Synchronicity (Carl Gustav Jung).
The time for self-application or application to other people drops from 5 minutes in level I to 2 minutes in level II, thus allowing a complete Reiki session to be completed in about 30 minutes. The recommended interval between the second and third levels is three months, since the cleansing process in level II is at an emotional and mental level, so a longer period is necessary for the practitioner to experience the changes and the harmonization process that will be taking place. The level II course is also self-contained, and it is not mandatory to take level III.
Usui said that the day should begin and end with Gasho (Prayer), meditation, prayer, and connection with the divine. In order for Reiki Ryoho Hikkei, Usui’s spiritual therapy, to manifest Reiji (energy signals) in you, you need to be receptive. This is Gasho! A meditative life that sees and treats the obscurations of the mind, allowing space for the action of Universal Compassion, the Divine Spark in each being. This is the essence of Reiki Therapy and Choku Rei.
THE SYMBOLS USED IN REIKI
As for the symbols used in Reiki, today you can find many on the market, sold retail or wholesale, combined with dozens of translations, promises, meanings and many meaningless things. Be careful, because there may even be a sale! Buy six and get half a dozen! lol
As for the ideograms written by Usui, only three are in fact kanji, however I believe that the writing of two is incorrect, as is their meaning, because being passed from master to disciple like playing “Chinese whispers”, the original form was lost over the years. The factor that contributed to this graphic loss was the claim that the symbols are sacred and secret, so students could not take copies of the drawings home, only those that they could retain in their memory.
The understanding achieved through meditation on symbols is truly sacred; the results of its internal practice must be kept secret, because when we talk to people about subtle experiences without them being familiar with the subject, we lose the energy of meditative concentration and suffer interference from the environment. The Reiki therapist needs to be harmonious, wise as bamboo, silent and receptive; he or she must have created a soft and stable atmosphere around him or her, so that he or she can touch other beings and harmonize their turbulent energy.
Besides, symbols are just symbols! They symbolize something on the plane of mental conceptions that we must consciously penetrate; they can be used as objects to obtain meditative concentration and even add a great amount of energy to the surroundings. They can be used to connect you with the source of this energy. They can be used as amulets, logos and much more. They can be transformed into sounds... seed syllables of great spiritual achievements. They can indicate a path, an arrow, a straight line, a goal... But all of these are just mental conceptions. Whether Reiki and meditation work or not depends on how we transform the mind and pacify our internal and external elements. Without transforming the mind that is clouded by attachments and desires, there will be no symbol that can give you health and prosperity.
In the Traditional School, symbols are only taught at level two. I prefer to teach the first one at level I, with the ‘popular’ spelling and the correct spelling; use whichever you prefer.
. The symbols Cho Ku Rei and Ra Ku kei are not kanji, katakana or hiragana, but they are still ideograms in the literal sense of the word and have a clear meaning in the Japanese language. Studying the language made it clear to me what the kanji I learned really are.
emos in Reiki.
It is said that in the Usui School, the Traditional initiation was given to only one hand at level I and only the first symbol, the CHOKU REI, was placed on the initiate's channels, and its shape was not revealed until level II. In the second level, the two remaining symbols, Sei Iki and Hon Sha Ze Sho Nem, would be transmitted, as well as the spelling and meaning of the three. I preferred to begin the comments on Choku Rei at level one and give initiation to both hands as I learned in other Reiki schools.
I have heard good translations of the meaning and spelling of Choku Rei, one of them is “I ask and command that the energy come to my hands and flow where it is needed”, others say things like “turn on the switch!”, “let there be light!”, and claim that the symbol and the repetition of the name are a key that turns the energy flow on and off. The motivation is correct but the interpretation is much more comprehensive. We will start from its traditional graphic form, composed of a horizontal line at the top, just as in Tibetan and Sanskrit the letters are topped by this line, in Choku Rei it also represents the Throne of Divinity, and everything above this line belongs to the sacred or divine. The vertical line, which hangs at 90º at the end of the previous one, represents the descent of this divine energy to the densest energy planes, and the counterclockwise spiral from the base of the vertical line from the outside to the center, represents this energy permeating the chakra system and subtle bodies of beings. This is in agreement with the literal translation and analysis of the kanji choku rei, composed of two ideograms in which Choku means “direct” and Rei means “spirit”, Universal Compassion, absence of inherent existence of all phenomena, Emptiness of beings and objects.
Translate as “Direct Spirit” here and now. The total absence of ego. A non-self, a mind of peace that radiates light and harmony to all beings. A loving mind that radiates blessings and vitality.
A great friend and Reiki master used the following definition for choku rei where the word is written in three syllables as traditionally known:
Cho: curved sword, of a samurai
Ku: integrating, penetrating, making whole, filling the void
Rei: transcendent spirit, mysterious power, cosmic universal essence.
“Curved sword filling the essence and penetrating with mysterious power.”
I also suggest another hypothesis, if Reiki does indeed have a connection with Tibetan culture, we should pay attention to some sounds and words such as Cho which means Dharma or Ultimate Truth, Ku means body, I do not know if Rei has greater relevance in Tibetan but we could conceive the idea that this mysterious Rei that flows through our body and hands is a “Body of Manifestation of Ultimate Truth”, a frequency of the energy of totality with which we can relate, interact and understand. It is the tangible part of what we can understand in Reiki from the point of view of our mental conceptions and usual thoughts; the internal part of Reiki can only be understood with a new way of thinking, of conceiving the universe and the beings within it, it is necessary to generate in the mind a special wisdom that perceives the interdependence of the universe and its beings, recognizing the process of creation of causes and conditions (karma) to have health or disharmony, in addition to providing the means to cease the production of negative karma and its effects.
Translation of the Reiki Symbols from Japanese to the Buddhist understanding.
choku = direct, rei = spirit > chokurei = direct spirit
sei = place, iki purification or place of the bow, mira > saheki = purification in the internal target with precise direction – tigle.
hon = origin, sha = god, zhe = that is, sho = correct, nem = principle or motivation > this is the correct motivation of divine origin
dai = great, ko = light, miyo = sun and moon > the clear light without duality of the united bodhicittas = ecstasy and emptiness
om sho = form of sound, emptiness is form and form is emptiness
ho ko ta = dignity, comes from hoko hen = samurai armor = dignity granted by the use of the internal, external and secret mandalas.
raku = box or form and kei alegria = form of joy = spontaneous ecstasy.

On the physical level, it helps in the recovery of vision disorders, sinusitis, rhinitis, headaches and neurological disorders.
icos, due to its profound calming action.
It promotes connection with inner wisdom, relaxation and creativity; it brings to the surface unconscious contents so that they can be worked on and resolved by the conscious mind.
POSITION 02
Palms of the hands on the temples, fingers stretched towards the jaw, without covering the ears, but if necessary, cover them with arched palms and fingers towards the back of the neck, so as not to cause discomfort.
This position promotes balance between the cerebral hemispheres and helps in the treatment of labyrinthitis.
POSITION 03
Palms comfortably supporting the head, fingers touching the base of the skull.
It develops lucidity, generates serenity and stimulates intellectual activities.
It relieves stress, muscle tension and releases pinching in the cervical spine.
This position can be accompanied by a light massage on the bilateral points that we call Fu Chi, at the base of the skull. In moxibustion, they are used to treat semicranial or general headaches, as well as vision disorders, arterial hypotension, otitis, dizziness, diabetes, etc.
It acts on the hypothalamus and pineal gland.
POSITION 04
Palms on the throat or crossed over the jaw with the forearms covering the ears.
It acts on the functioning of the thyroid, cervical spine, speech problems, nervousness, repression, shyness, oppression, emotional instability, difficulty expressing oneself in public, body rigidity, resentment and insecurity.
It is the region known as the throat chakra, which according to esoteric traditions is responsible for communication with the higher planes and ‘channeling of the inner voice’.
POSITION 05
With the palms positioned over the region of the thymus gland and the lower end of the external bone. This position increases the energy of the heart chakra and the body's immune defense, and treats emotional traumas such as depression, melancholy and apathy.
POSITION 06
Then in an inverted T shape, which also acts on the thymus, but mainly on the energy point called DAN CHU, used in Chinese therapy to treat agalactia (lack of milk) and mastitis (inflammation of the mammary glands). It helps the respiratory tract, palpitations, arrhythmia, etc.
POSITION 07
Place your hands on the diaphragm region, a little below the heart. After the necessary time, move down a little further and cover the region corresponding to the liver, gallbladder, stomach, spleen, pancreas, colon and intestine.
POSITION 08
Place your hands at waist height, this acts on the kidneys, adrenal glands, large and small intestine, bladder, uterus and ovaries. This application is effective in cases of panic, hysteria, sadness, excessive attachment, greed, and lack of creativity. It increases self-confidence.
POSITION 09
Position your hands so that your palms cover the area 4 fingers below the navel. According to Chinese tradition, this point is known as KAN GUEN (Source of Life). This position acts on all disorders in the abdomen, assists in the processes of lymphatic drainage, release of toxins, constipation or diarrhea. It treats fears related to life or death as well as traumas linked to sexuality. It promotes longevity.
This position has two variations. In the first, support the patient's hands on the sexual organs and apply the energy at a distance of 1 cm. In the second option, support the thumbs at the height of the pubic bone, keeping the fists resting on the iliac and the fingers pointing towards the feet. It is beneficial in the treatment of sexual dysfunctions, gonads, ovaries, prostate, testicles, and seminal vesicles.
It increases self-esteem, inner security, tranquility, and confidence in one's own decisions. It provides stability and helps people with motor dysfunctions.
POSITION 10
The knees are energetically connected to the 'heart' and promote the release of emotional blockages. They represent our flexibility to dissolve impasses and develop the humility we need to have so that we can "bow" in certain situations. The imposition of hands on the joints treats emotions such as pride and fear of death, and promotes the relaxation of muscles, tendons, and ligaments.
In many religious practices, the act of 'bending the knees' to connect with the Whole is common. In the collective unconscious of humanity, they are the archetype that represents the support of spiritual growth.
POSITION 11 - 12
The ankle also has the aforementioned connotations. The feet represent our connection with the earth, “being down to earth”. Emotional security, certainty of the goal, ability and firmness to follow your own path of personal growth. Helps to dissolve blockages in relationships.
All leg and foot positions help restore blood circulation, reducing swelling caused by fluid retention. To truly see the result, you need to reduce your salt intake by cooking all foods without it and adding a maximum of 2 mg.
each meal. Consult your doctor about a unit of measurement.
POSITION 13 - 14
The soles of the feet are as important as the palms of the hands and head. They contain all the points corresponding to the organs, viscera and psychophysiological functions addressed by Acupuncture and Reflexology techniques, thus serving as a map of the entire body.
Promotes the grounding of subtle energy and discharges static electricity. Brings the person back to reality.

LEVEL III - “The Realization of the Inner Master”.
We will now perform a new attunement to improve the channeling of the large amount of energy that will be necessary at this level. The student will receive another symbol and a sound, a symbol used by Reiki masters, enabling the sending of energy to an unlimited number of people at the same time. This is known as the ‘Symbol of the Multitude’ and its understanding aims to benefit many beings simultaneously. We will also learn other Reiki techniques linked to the Ngal So, Kahuna, Tibetan and Osho systems, considerably expanding the student’s field of perception. Level III groups are taught in approximately 8 hours; this may vary according to the experiences that each participant wishes to report, the number of students to be attuned and the set of techniques to be addressed according to the group dynamics.

LEVEL IV - Mastery - “Transmitting the Lineage of Light”.
Level IV, also called “mastery”, allows the student to receive the necessary learning to be able to teach the Reiki technique to other people. At this level, the student learns how the attunement process is carried out, how to organize study groups and lectures, class schedule for all levels, advanced techniques, etc. The duration of learning at this level varies from three to four months, with weekly classes, depending on the student’s capacity and availability to assimilate and practice.
In most cases, this module is individual, respecting the ‘Space
Sacred’ that arises from the relationship between Master and Master, from mind to mind; this is because the true Master is the one who invites you to Be One Whole, Inseparable from the Infinite Ocean that presents itself to the initiate upon receiving the Initiation.
This is the magical moment of Reiki in which the ‘level three practitioner’ becomes a Master by delivering the knowledge to the new Reiki practitioner and becomes equal to the condition of a disciple through this new enlightened experience.
“All the knowledge gathered in this work was created, received, compiled and translated from the experiences I had with Masters, disciples and friends, from Brazil and abroad. It should be shared, so as to avoid false interpretation of the subtext contained in these teachings. If you wish to share this information with other people, invite them to participate in a refresher course of their Reiki levels and to visit the Tibetan Buddhist Study Centers.”
With Love and Dedication to the Dharma of Buddha,

Brief Biography of Reiki Masters
Mikao Usui (1865-1926)
Mikao Usui was born on August 15, 1865, in Japan, into a samurai family. He was educated in a variety of disciplines, including medicine, psychology, religion, and philosophy. His spiritual quest led him to study ancient Buddhist texts, which mentioned healing through the laying on of hands. Inspired by these teachings, Usui embarked on a journey of self-discovery and enlightenment, culminating in a 21-day retreat on Mount Kurama. During this period of fasting and intense meditation, he had an enlightenment experience in which he received the revelation of Reiki and the sacred symbols.
He founded the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai, an organization dedicated to the teaching and practice of Reiki, and began to spread the technique throughout Japan. Among his best-known teachings are the Five Principles of Reiki, which guide the practitioner in the search for balance and harmony in their daily lives.
Chujiro Hayashi (1878-1941)
A physician and officer in the Japanese Navy, Chujiro Hayashi was one of Mikao Usui's direct disciples and played a key role in the systematization of Reiki. He created a more structured method of applying energy, including specific sequences of hand positions to treat different physical conditions. Hayashi also developed treatment centers where patients underwent regular Reiki sessions to recover from chronic illnesses.
In addition to his contribution to the standardization of Reiki, Hayashi trained several practitioners, the most notable of whom was Hawayo Takata, who was responsible for bringing the technique to the West.
Hawayo Takata (1900-1980)
Hawayo Takata was born in Hawaii, the daughter of Japanese immigrants. In 1935, she traveled to Japan seeking treatment for health problems and discovered Chujiro Hayashi's clinic, where she received Reiki sessions. Fascinated by the effects of the therapy, she decided to learn the technique and became a Reiki master in 1938.
Takata was largely responsible for introducing Reiki to the United States and other Western countries. She adapted the practice to Western culture, emphasizing its effectiveness as a complementary therapy. During her lifetime, she trained 22 Reiki masters, who helped spread the system throughout the world.
Reiki and Ancient Healing Traditions
Reiki connects to ancestral practices such as:
Indian Yogi Practices: The concept of "Prana" and Chakras are similar to the energetic bases of Reiki. Prana is described in Vedic texts as the vital energy that permeates the entire universe, and is controlled through breathing and meditation. Activating the chakras through the laying on of hands is also a concept present in Reiki.
Tibetan Buddhism: The Vajrayana teachings mention the use of hands for energy transmission (NgalSo). In Tibetan Buddhism, subtle energy is manipulated through specific practices, including mantras and mudras, which have parallels with Reiki techniques. Many Tibetan masters use the laying on of hands as part of their healing and spiritual initiation rituals.
Christian Laying on of Hands: Similarities to the healing recorded in the Gospels. The Bible contains several accounts of Jesus Christ laying his hands on the sick to heal them, a practice that echoes the essence of Reiki. In many Christian traditions, energy healing continues to be practiced as a form of spiritual blessing and harmonization.
Traditional Chinese Medicine: In TCM, life force energy is called "Qi," and its balanced flow through the body is essential for health. Practices such as acupuncture, qigong, and tai chi work to harmonize Qi, just as Reiki seeks to balance life force energy. The concept of meridians in TCM can be compared to the nadis of yoga and the flow of Reiki energy, demonstrating a connection between these ancient practices.
Shamanism: Shamanic traditions around the world also use the laying on of hands as a form of healing. Reiki is similar to shamanic techniques by accessing energy fields and working with them.
with sacred symbols. Many shamans channel the energy of nature, the elements, and ancestral spirits to restore balance to individuals, just as Reiki channels universal energy to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
In this way, Reiki can be understood as part of a global system of energy healing, which shares fundamental principles with different spiritual and therapeutic traditions throughout history.

Tenzin Yeshe Shestra Lama Gangchen Tulku Rinpoche, born in Tibet in 1941, is the holder of a long uninterrupted lineage of healing lamas and tantric masters. Due to his profound knowledge of the interdependent relationship between the body and the mind, Lama Gangchen developed the ability to understand the causes and conditions of our physical and mental illnesses, beyond the mere symptoms. His knowledge allows him to help many people overcome and heal their physical and mental problems, and to get in touch with their deepest energy of self-healing.
He is the spiritual leader of numerous Dharma centers in several countries, and coordinates the Lama Gangchen World Peace Foundation and Peace Publication, the University of Non-formal Education.
“My mind of crazy wisdom thinks that in the 21st century we will need a new vehicle of wisdom, a new realization of method and wisdom to heal the external and internal worlds. I imagine a new vehicle of wisdom that links the essence of ancient ideas about reality, philosophy, medicine, astrology, the Sutra and Tantric Yoga of transformation of the body and mind at the gross, subtle and very subtle levels with the essence of the latest scientific research and developments in high-energy physics, chemistry, medicine, astronomy, electronics and many other areas.
Furthermore, we need to harmonize the two mandalas and connect our inner and outer worlds, full of suffering, to the inner and outer worlds of peace of Shambala. This is not just the responsibility of lamas, priests, yogis, rabbis, etc. The entire new generation of knowledge holders, such as scientists, doctors, healers, therapists and researchers, as well as future generations must assume this responsibility. We all need to learn to use impermanence and interdependence of phenomena in a creative way so that we can leave something positive for our children and the world.
If we learn to care for, relax and regenerate (Ngalso) the inner world and add this experience to our scientific and material development, we can make our society much more advanced and great than any ancient culture or civilization. For example, by learning to use impermanence in a positive way, we can transform the internal atomic bombs of illusions into atomic peace.
First we need to recognize the seed of peace in our heart and central channel. Then we must nurture and develop this seed with great care, using the scientific inner investigation and the yoga development program of method and wisdom. As a result, we will fill our heart and central channel with the atomic peace of the absolute level and no longer with the atomic bombs of sufferings and illusions of the relative level. We need to build an absolute Spiritual World Bank in our heart and central channel, invested by our inner wealth and the pure diamonds of the crystal energy of our deepest mind.
Using a synthesis of ancient and modern ideas, through the new vehicle of wisdom, we can recover and release (Ngalso) the external, internal and secret sufferings of our body, mind and the planet. All phenomena are subject to impermanence and therefore I wish to share the Ngalso Self-Healing methods with this world before I die. I do not want to change or offer another religion to anyone. The practice of Ngalso Self-Healing can remind us of the compassion and wisdom of Buddha, Jesus and many other Holy Beings, so that we can develop and maintain the peace of all of them in our gross, subtle and very subtle minds.
By healing our inner world, we can heal society and the planet. By creating a balanced and harmonious flow of energy between our outer and inner worlds, we can prepare ourselves now, in the relative world, for the experience of deep relaxation and Ngalso regeneration of the peaceful world of Shambala, an absolute world of absolute pure crystal.
Perhaps I am mistaken; perhaps I am just a Lama of crazy wisdom. However, it seems that I am not the only one concerned about the need for a new vehicle of wisdom:
“The doctrines of the Buddha-Dharma remain today as immune to the march of time and the expansion of knowledge as when they were first expressed. No matter how much scientific knowledge may extend the mental horizon of man, within the framework of the Dharma there will always be room for the acceptance and assimilation of future discoveries.”
Francis Storey, Western Buddhist scholar
“Our present struggle (with advanced theoretical physics) may be merely a foretaste of this completely new form of intellectual endeavor, which will not even be described as scientific.”
Professor Cheg, Chinese physicist - reality research
“It is possible that in contact with Western science and inspired by the spirit of history, the teachings of Gautama, revived and purified, will play a role of great importance in guiding the destiny of humanity.”
H.G.Wells - English writer and visionary - 19th century
“The religion of the future will be a cosmic religion. It must transcend a personalized God and avoid dogma and theology. Embracing both, the natural and the spiritual, should be based on a religious feeling born of the experience of all things natural and spiritual as a meaningful unity. Buddhism answers this description.”
Albert Einstein - Nobel Prize winner - Theory of Relativity
Perhaps Einstein and Prof. Cheng are right; perhaps the teachings of Buddha, united with modern science in the form of a new vehicle of wisdom, will play a major role in the positive development of human society.
Please do not think that it is impossible to transform our polluted and crisis-ridden planet into a world of inner and outer peace. We already have the example of the Asian kingdom of Shambala to show the way. Since everything exists impermanently, even the most difficult and negative situation cannot last forever. By following the New Vehicle of Wisdom of the science and technology of self-healing, especially Vajrayana self-healing, and learning to use impermanence and the interdependence of phenomena in a positive way, we can transform darkness into light. There is no reason why, by practicing Tantric Self-Healing and uniting the two mandalas, our world cannot now link up with the peaceful world of Shambala and ultimately also transform into a peaceful world like Shambala. If we use the inner and outer sciences in a positive way, using them to take care of our outer and inner world, we can truly transform these degenerate times of Kaliyuga into the era of universal love of Maitreya and Shambala, of peace and Ngalso relaxation of the inner and outer worlds. I would like to make a request to the followers of various Traditions such as Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Islam, Janaism, Druidism, Spiritism, Shamanism, Buddhism and others, as well as all scientists, doctors, therapists, to my important and recognized friends, to the unknown but secretly special, to all those who have a simple, great or precious mind, or those who have the energy and capacity to alleviate the suffering of beings in these difficult times: - why don't we take this opportunity and create a new vehicle of wisdom to offer a message of peace to the world and do something positive for ourselves, our children, society and future generations? All who are interested in this idea and wish to participate in this project are invited to contact the Lama Gangchen Foundation for World Peace - LGWPF.
This new vehicle is not intended to reach those who feel satisfied with traditional religious forms and solutions. I want to be able to serve those who do not follow any religion or tradition, and who, interested in research and scientific development, have already realized the need for individual and planetary healing. It is especially aimed at the new generations. Forgive me for being “crazy” but I feel that the absolute energy of pure crystal should be available to everyone, regardless of culture, race, caste, religion, political belief, status, social class, etc. As a Bodhisattva, I consider it my personal commitment to try to make peace in the world and Ngalso Self-Healing a reality for everyone. The new vehicle of wisdom, a new synthesis of science and technology, with Western and Eastern, ancient and modern healing methods, such as: Self-healing of the Vinaya-yana Sutra, Mahayana Sutra and Tantra, Vajrayana Tantric, the compassionate self-healing methods of the Sacred Beings of the various religions, Self-healing through pure crystal energy, Mantric of Tantra and Sutra, Astrological of Tantra and Sutra, through dietary behavior, Eastern and Western medicine, ancient and modern science, Gross Ngalso Self-healing, such as Hatha and Yantra yogas, physiotherapy, Reiki, Tai Chi, Chagtsel, Kun Nye, Ngalso, Aikido, Shiatsu, Trulkur and many others. Ngalso regeneration and relaxation of the body, speech and mind, of the external and internal Environment and Subtle Ngalso Self-healing.
Now and forever!

Voluntary Sectoral Technical Standard NTSV - TS 003
by Henrique Vieira Filho

Synchronous Therapy — REIKI — Good Practices
1. SUMMARY
Voluntary Sectoral Technical Standard for Holistic Therapy
NTSV — TS 003
Synchronous Therapy — REIKI — Good Practices
2. PREFACE
Voluntary Sectoral Technical Standards for Holistic Therapy (standards = rules; techniques = appropriate standards of professional procedures; sectoral = specific to the Holistic Therapy sector; voluntary = not required by Federal Law).
Self-Regulation presupposes a voluntary attitude by professionals based on an awareness of the need for self-discipline that will cover basic points, establishing ethical and technical rules of action, such as Voluntary Sectoral Technical Standards, Codes of Ethics, Resolutions, Opinions, which must be complied with not by force of Law, but rather by contractual force that is established by upon the voluntary affiliation of each member with the self-regulatory entity.
Unlike what happens in professions regulated by Federal Law, where a member can be punished even with the revocation of his/her right to practice the profession, self-regulatory entities limit themselves to applying statutory sanctions to their spontaneously affiliated members and, at most, expelling a member from the membership.
Self-regulatory entities disseminate their regulations through the media to society, which, once informed, spontaneously gives preference to services and products that voluntarily comply with the organization's internal rules. Recognition of compliance is made public through Quality Seals for products and through Technical Certifications and Membership Cards for services and professionals. Even without legal obligation, this recognition becomes a very favorable differential for those who obtain it, who are then favored by the "market law". Self-Regulation is the middle path, which has more and more followers and which, in theory and in practice, shows increasing advantages over utopian systems of total freedom or total government control.
At the end, Informative Annexes were added that present additional data to serve as subsidies for a better understanding of the context that guided the elaboration of the NTSV, in addition to facilitating the understanding of its practical applications.
3. INTRODUCTION
REIKI has a vast bibliography and is widely accepted in our country, having suffered divergent interpretations regarding its correct use. This Standard defines some basic principles for good professional and teaching practices that will guide the self-regulation of Holistic Therapy with regard to Synchronicity Therapy - REIKI.
4. GENERAL REGULATORY ELEMENTS
4.1 Title
REIKI — Good Practices for Use and Teaching
4.2 Objective
To define the standard suitability for use and teaching
4.3 Regulatory References
NTSV — TH 001 — Code of Ethics for the Holistic Therapists Category

5. TECHNICAL REGULATORY ELEMENTS
5.1 Definitions
5.1.1 HOLISTIC THERAPIST, in general, studies and analyzes the client, always carried out under the holistic paradigm, whose approach takes into account the socio-somato-psychic aspects. It uses a combination of the most diverse techniques, as each case is considered unique and the most varied methods must be available, to enable the option for those with which the client has the greatest affinity: it promotes the optimization of quality of life, establishing an interactive process with the client, leading the client to self-knowledge and changes in several areas, the most common being: behavior, elaboration of reality and/or concerns about it, increase in the capacity to be successful in life situations (maximum increase in opportunities and minimization of adverse conditions), in addition to knowledge and ability for decision-making. It evaluates energy imbalances, their predispositions and possible consequences, in addition to promoting the catalyzing of the natural tendency towards self-balance, facilitating it through the application of a combination of holistic approach therapies, with the objective of transmuting disharmony into self-knowledge. 5.1.2 SYNCHRONICITY THERAPIST — distinguishes himself from other therapists by working with his client without the need for direct physical contact, and in some situations the client's presence is not even necessary. This professional makes practical applications of the Jungian synchronicity theory, using traditional and modern methods of prediction, such as radiesthesia, paranormal activity, astrology, numerology, tarot, I Ching, cowrie shells, runes and similar methods, as auxiliary ways of assessing the client's condition, or therapeutically, stimulating his intuition and non-linear thinking; Using synchronic analysis, the client uses therapeutic techniques such as Reiki, radionics, psychotronics, mentalizations and similar techniques, in addition to interactive discussions with the client about aspects raised either astrologically, numerologically or through other traditional methods of prediction, in addition to counseling, leading to self-knowledge and changes in several areas, the most common being: behavior, elaboration of reality and/or concerns about it, increased ability to be successful in life situations (maximum increase in opportunities and minimization of adverse conditions), in addition to knowledge and ability to make decisions, including professional ones. Provides consultancy to companies, as well as individuals, advising and optimizing decision-making skills in both the personal and professional spheres, in addition to promoting energetic harmonization of environments;
5.1.3 CLIENT — user of Holistic Therapy services, in full possession of their mental faculties who, in their judgment, or, when applicable, with the authorization of their legal representative, accepts the therapeutic work proposal presented by the professional.
5.1.4 PARAPSYCHOLOGY: study of a series of unusual psychic, physiological and physical phenomena, not yet explainable by known natural laws, which commonly act as if endowed with intentionality and intelligence. Therapeutic line that specifically works on so-called paranormal phenomena, such as conscious unfolding ("astral travel"), regression to past lives, "poltergeist", possession and similar. 5.1.5 EXPERIENCES: carried out individually or in groups, it uses both Body Therapy and Relaxation as an introduction to deep states of self-awareness and, in this way, allows the emergence of repressed emotions, traumatic memories and dreams (to be worked on in Holistic Therapy), as well as the awakening of an inner and intuitive wisdom in the client, capable of guiding them in decision-making or even in resolving health issues.
5.1.6 RELAXATION: several methods are used to obtain muscular and psychic relaxation, among them Massage, Music Therapy, Chromotherapy, Crystal Therapy, Acupuncture and verbal suggestion. See also Experiences. 5.1.7 "INSIGHT": term used in Jungian and transpersonal therapy — sudden "flashes" of a higher consciousness (whether in the form of memories or symbolic images to be deciphered) that make it possible to grasp in the form of synthesis a series of factors that were not previously understood.
5.1.8 TRANSPERSONAL THERAPY: the proposal is to transcend the limits of the personality, connecting the client with him/herself, bringing to consciousness aspects of his/her deepest "self", integrating with his/her own body, society and universe.
5.1.9 COUNSELING: interactive process, characterized by a unique relationship between the Holistic Therapist and the client, leading the client to self-knowledge and changes in several areas, the most common being: behavior, elaboration of reality and/or concerns about it, increase in the capacity to be successful in life situations (maximum increase of opportunities and minimization of adverse conditions), in addition to knowledge and ability to make decisions. Counseling is an integral part of the work of every true Therapist*, regardless of what other methods he or she adopts.
5.1.10 SYNCHRONICITY: Jungian theory of the possibility of a significant, but not causal, relationship between events; a term created by C. G. Jung to describe the almost simultaneous occurrence of two events, one internal and the other external, which appear to have a common relationship, other than that of "cause and effect".
5.1.11 JUNG — CARL GUSTAV JUNG: psychiatrist, dissident disciple of Freud, who contributed admirably to psychotherapy by developing the theories of Synchronicity and the Collective Unconscious, among others.
5.1.12 TRANSPERSONAL / TRANSPERSONALITY: expansion of consciousness beyond the usual limits of the ego and personality, even leading to altered states of consciousness with spiritual and religious sensations. 5.1.13 MIKAO USUI: rediscoverer and organizer of REIKI, becoming the sensei (teacher) of this art through studies and, in particular, through a transpersonal event in which he obtained, through insight, the knowledge necessary for REIKI.
5.1.14 REIKI: (Jap REI = Universal; KI = Vital Energy) is the therapy of activation, direction and application of Universal Vital Energy, to promote energetic balance, prevent dysfunctions and provide a better quality of life. Term of exclusive use for those who were initiated according to the precepts established by Mikao Usui and his disciples.
5.1.15 REIKIANO or REIKI THERAPIST: distinguishes himself from other therapists by working with his client using REIKI, without the obligation of direct physical contact, and in some situations the presence of the client is not even necessary. Likewise, for REIKI, any prior anamnesis of the client's condition is unnecessary, since its form of application does not depend on this information. This professional makes therapeutic use of Universal Vital Energy with the proposal of harmonization and improvement of the quality of life, in addition to the interactive discussion with the client of aspects raised, added to counseling, leading to self-knowledge and changes in several areas, the most common being: behavior, elaboration of reality and/or concerns about it, increase in the capacity to be successful in life situations (maximum increase of opportunities and minimization of adverse conditions), in addition to knowledge and ability to make decisions, including professional ones. According to the technical qualification established in 5.3.2.1.
5.1.16 MASTER: (lat. magistru) The same as teacher, instructor; one who who is versed in and/or teaches an art or profession. In Holistic Therapy, the term master has the same technical meaning that the word receives in other professions, such as "master builder", "master chef" and similar.
5.1.16.1 REIKI MASTER: instructor qualified to teach free courses on REIKI Therapy and initiate new professionals, in accordance with the technical qualification established in 5.3.2.2.
5.1.16.2 INDEPENDENT REIKI MASTER: one who, while also in accordance with the technical qualification established in 5.3.2.2, has chosen not to remain affiliated with any REIKI association.

5.3 Requirements and Test Methods
5.3.1 CRT — Accredited Holistic Therapist Card — Whether or not a Holistic Therapist has a CRT — Accredited Holistic Therapist Card or is affiliated with any entity in our field, from a legal standpoint, is irrelevant, since there is no requirement under Federal Law. However, having a CRT is an increasingly greater source of pride and acceptance, so much so that Accredited Holistic Therapist Cards are printed according to the most rigorous quality and safety requirements. The population, in turn, can finally be sure about the professional they are looking for, since there will never be any possibility of confusing a Holistic Therapist with a Psychologist, or a Physiotherapist, or a Doctor, precisely thanks to the use of the CRT number on their cards and advertisements. This distinction has been and will always be the subject of a broad clarification campaign in the most varied media outlets. 5.3.2 Technical Qualification — (in this item, meet at least one of the requirements):
5.3.2.1 — To apply for the TRK:
5.3.2.1.1 — Diploma from courses in the area recognized by the MEC or SINTE; and/or

5.3.2.2.4 — Acquired Right: Proof of activity for more than 4 years, either by registration as an employee, self-employed or as a company in the area, presenting the pertinent documents: in the case of an employee, a copy of the content of the Work Record; if self-employed, a copy of the ISS containing the date the activity began; if it is a company, CNPJ and Articles of Association, proving the connection with our profession.
5.3.3 Good practices in TRK
5.3.3.1 — Minimum age of the client: 18 years; underage clients may be accepted, if at least one parent or legal guardian is present or if there is written authorization from them, and the authorization must be kept with the client's file.
5.3.3.2 — Explain the TRK process in detail and make sure that your client understands the therapeutic proposal, in particular, that there is no religious or creedal connection to the work; the client must be asked about their preference for treatment with or without touch, music, aromas and the like, to ensure that they will be well accepted and that they are in accordance with each case, and the TH must adapt to the modesty and limits of each client, respecting them and expanding them according to the technical need and with the gradual achievement of mutual trust;
5.3.4 — Good practices in free TRK courses
5.3.4.1 — Minimum age of the student for free TRK courses: 18 years; exceptionally, underage students may be accepted, only if there is written authorization from at least one parent or legal guardian and the Master assesses the candidate's emotional maturity as adequate; the authorization must be kept with the student's file.
5.3.4.2 — Passing through the various REIKI Levels brings potentialities and repressed psychic material to the consciousness, as well as catalyzing the manifestation of emotions and processes to be worked on.
therapeutically, hence it is essential for the Master to emphasize Counseling so that his students elaborate the content experienced during the initiation process, leading them to self-knowledge.
5.3.4.3 — The free course must provide individual printed teaching material, including the REIKI symbols and the identification of the lineage(s) of which the student becomes a part.
5.3.4.4 — Minimum interval of time between the learning of each REIKI level: 3 months; exceptionally, students may be accepted at shorter intervals, and the Master must rigorously evaluate the conditions of the candidate, who must sign his/her acknowledgement of the exceptional nature to which he/she is submitting.
5.3.4.5 — The free course must have the student/master/educational establishment relationship governed by a contract that establishes the evaluation criteria for the approval of the candidate, the conditions and forms of payment, as well as the Certificate to which the graduate will be entitled.
5.3.5 — Professional Fees
5.3.5.1 — Fees will be set with dignity and due care, so that they correspond to a fair return for the services provided, remembering that the Holistic Therapist, in order to maintain the quality of his/her work, needs financial resources to invest in supervision, courses, studies, therapy and/or psychotherapy.
5.3.5.2 — In order to make TRK and its teaching recognized by the trust and approval of society, the fees and values of free courses may be adapted to the financial conditions of the interested parties, at the discretion of the Reiki Practitioner and/or Master.
5.3.5.3 — If the TH reduces the value of his/her fees, fails to comply with any recommendation of the Code of Ethics, especially item II of the Fundamental Principles and §6 and §7 of 5.3.4.3.2, thus reducing the required quality standard, he/she will be exercising unfair competition.
5.3.6 — Verification of Compliance: The TH who voluntarily undertakes to comply with this NTSV also makes himself available to SINTE — Therapists' Union so that it may verify full compliance with the same at any time, this commitment being confirmed by the issuance of the Technical Certification that is linked to this Standard and whose validity may be suspended or revoked by the issuing body, in the event of proven non-compliance.
